The Molino del Puente is an authentic, beautiful family run country hotel, sitting right on the riverside on the ouskirts of Ronda. Elaine and Ian Love together with their 3 daughters, and friendly helpful staff have made this hotel into a real home from home.
Originally an 18th century Olive mill the Molino del Puente has been lovingly restored into a luxurious, 12 bedroom hotel , complete with swimming pool, cosy lounge, elegant dining area and modern bar area complete with a terrace overlooking the river.
However, if you fancy getting away from it all the hotel also has a lovely garden with a cottage feel, that extends along the river bank and its always possible to find a quiet corner to relax and unwind especially after a long days sightseeing or walking in the nearby Serrania de Ronda.
The spacious double rooms all have en suite bathrooms complete with jacuzzis and Moroccan spa baths complete with luxurious handmade soaps, and extremely comfortable beds. It really is the perfect place for a long weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, or to celebrate a special occasion.
The Molino del Puente is also well known in the area for its excellent cuisine, Ian and Elaine have had many years of experience running hotels and restaurants on the coast, but made their name for high quality cuisine at the Harbour Lights in Cabo Pino. Guests can enjoy a variety of modern Spanish style tapas throughout the day and in the evenings the a la carte menu features the chefs specialities such as lamb en croute with Thai spices or fillets of fresh sea bream with saffron and mussels. If you really want something extra special the chef is also prepared to order in fresh lobsters and prepare them to your choice with prior notice.
Ronda is blessed with many of the regions best wines, and the restaurant boasts an extensive wine list featuring the best of the crop alongside more well known international wines.
Luckily the Molino del Puente is also open to non residents, and is a great place to have a light lunch on the terrace, or a more intimate meal in the evenings. They also have a range of tapas to try out on a Mondays for the bargain price of only 10euros for as many as you like so why not try out the local delights such as Gambas Pil Pil, or a marinated pork stir fry or the more traditional lentils with chorizo.
