This was an interesting concert, billed as a fusion of Flamenco and Andean backgrounds, but sounding very much like a modern celtic show, Lucho and Leticia have amazing voices, as you can hear in the video, and the crowd really enjoyed the evening.
It was gratifying to see so many extranjeros in the audience, I think we really built up the numbers and gave Lucho and Leticia a reception to be proud of. At the end of the show Leticia’s daughter was selling their various CDs, and a great trade they did, I counted at least 25 CDs sold at 10€ each.
Lucho, who is originally from South America, gave us a wonderful solo on pan flute, and singing, and is a good partner to Leticia’s voice and harp with his flutes, guitars, and authentic Andean instruments for creating the sound of waves or insects creaking.
Leticia on the other hand plays harp, sings, and whistles, the whistle being quite amazing, at times sounding exactly like Amazonian birds. Her voice is clear, and carried well in the patio, which doesn’t have spectacular acoustics to begin with. Seeing Leticia tune her harp before each song reminded me she is a professional, and she takes her job of entertaining seriously.
All in all a very enjoyable show, the crowd really seemed to respond, and several of the songs were quite relaxing, in fact I saw several people closing their eyes and soaking up the ambience with smiles on their faces.
